Here are 'dem critters!
All of these critters are pound critters or were saved from certain doom. They're all great critters.
July 2005 Update: All of the critters except Pickle have either found a new home or died. Rachel had a cancer and had to be put down. Spooky went out one night to play and never came back (we assume something bigger and meaner than her got her). Bonnie decided she liked the neighbors better, and we didn't object.
Spooky was a pound kitty. Her and her brother Norman were rescued in 1994. Norman died of some kind of cancer, but this little kitty has been strong and healthy. She loves to play outdoors and given her desire to wake me at 4am to go out, she spends most nights outside :). Don't worry, she lets me know if I forget to put her out at night :).
Pickle was rescued from my mom's house in 1996. Well, mom got her from my grandmother who rescued her from the jaws of a dog trying very hard to eat her when she was a week or two old. The poor thing is still extremely skittish and always on "edge". However, she's also the friendliest and most loving cat. I am somehow "mom" and this cat loves to get petted a whole lot more than I am interested. Still, she's darn cute and loves to snuggle. She is mostly an indoor cat who likes to look outside and go out if you leave the door open and walk away (she can't go if your watching :). If you close the door, she runs immediately to it asking to be let back in.
This is mama's girl. This doggie only seems to be interested in momma and is sometimes quite irrational. But, she does make up for it by being cute :). She was rescued from the pound at the same time as Spooky (1994). She is 99% indoor and just goes out to do her buisness or if mamma goes out :).
We rescued Bonnie from the KC pound around 1999/2000. She was just too darn cute for words, but she really likes the country side and seems to have adopted the neighbors and doesn't really come to see us much anymore. Oh well, she liked to roll in mud or get covered in ticks before coming to visit so it wasn't tooo heartbreaking :)
